Updating the App

The desktop app updates itself: after a new release is published, the update downloads in the background and applies the next time the app restarts — no manual reinstall needed.

Automatic updates

When a new version is available, the app downloads it in the background and installs on the next launch (or restart). Only the program itself is replaced — local assets and artworks are not touched.

Check for updates manually

Two places:

User menu → “Preferences” → Desktop App: shows the current version; “Check for updates” queries immediately. When a new version is found it downloads automatically, then “Install & restart now” applies it;
User menu → “About YunPeiHua”: the same version info and an “Update now” button, plus release notes for what’s new.

The “Desktop App” card only appears in the desktop app; the web app doesn’t have it.

If an update fails

Make sure the computer can reach www.yunpeihua.com;
If automatic updates keep failing, download the installer again from the homepage “Desktop” section and install over the existing one — your local data is preserved.
